The fastest kitchen remodels are the ones planned before demolition. The work has a fixed order, and every step waits on the one before it, so a delay early on pushes back everything after it.
Cabinets come first. They have to be installed level and secured before anyone can measure for countertops, because stone fabricators template from the actual installed boxes, not from the drawings. Allow time for your cabinets to arrive before the old kitchen comes out.
Countertops are next. Quartz, granite, and quartzite are templated on site, cut in the shop, and installed about one to two weeks later. Choosing your slab before the templating appointment avoids the most common delay.
The backsplash and paint come last. Tile waits for the counters to be set, and paint waits for the tile, so the finished edges stay clean.
Keep a short list of decisions you need to make before work starts: cabinet style and color, counter material, sink and faucet, backsplash tile, and hardware. When those are settled, a kitchen remodel can move from demolition to finished room without stalling.
